Collection: Rollie Pollie Play Mats

Our playmats are designed to give babies and toddlers a safe, soft, and considered space to play. In a Hong Kong apartment where hard tiled floors are common and dedicated play spaces are often compact, a well-chosen playmat makes a significant practical difference: it provides cushioning against falls, a hygienic and easy-to-clean surface for floor play, and a defined area that contains play and activity within the broader room.

A baby playmat in a Hong Kong home needs to handle daily use across a wide range of conditions. Our playmats are made from materials selected for their safety, softness, and durability: non-toxic, free from harmful chemicals, and tested for the close contact that babies and young children have with floor surfaces throughout the day. They are designed to be easy to clean, ideal for spaces that see spills, crumbs, and the full range of what life with a young child involves.

The Rollie Pollie play mats in our collection bring a distinctive design sensibility to the category. Our playmats sit comfortably within a considered interior. The designs are playful without being visually overwhelming, and the palette is restrained enough to work alongside the rest of the room rather than dominating it. Our scallop collection shares a similar design ethos for those who want a soft, organic aesthetic extended beyond the playroom.

For families with pets as well as young children, our pet friendly rugs collection overlaps with this one in constructions that handle both animal and child use simultaneously. A rug underlay beneath any playmat on a tiled floor adds an additional layer of cushioning and keeps everything securely in place.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I choose the right rug size for my room? Icon

To choose the right living room rug size, start by measuring your space. The goal is to pick a rug large enough to fit your furniture on it, creating a unified look. For smaller rooms, a rug in front of the furniture works well too.

For detailed room-by-room sizing recommendations, pro tips, preview rugs in your own space virtually and access our free styling service, visit our Rug Size Guide. There you’ll find all the tools and insights you need to confidently choose the right size for your home.

I'm not sure where to begin. Do you offer a complimentary styling service? Icon

You're not alone, and the good news is you don't have to work it out by yourself. With so many styles, colours, sizes and materials to weigh up, choosing a rug can feel like a lot. That's exactly what our complimentary styling service is here for.

Our stylists bring years of experience across interior design, so you'll have someone in your corner from the very start.

Share a little about your room, and your stylist will thoughtfully consider size, fibre, construction, colour and the way you live in the space. From there, they'll curate recommendations that feel natural, cohesive and grounded in your vision.

No stress, no guesswork: just expert advice tailored to you, so you can choose your rug with confidence.

Do you offer free shipping and returns? Icon

Yes. We offer free shipping and returns, Australia-wide, so you can feel confident bringing one home.

If it’s not quite right, you can return your rug within 30 days, as long as it’s unused and in its original condition. We cover return shipping on up to two rugs per customer every 30 days, and you’ll receive a full refund to your original payment method.

Playmats

Baby playmat sizing in a Hong Kong apartment is worth thinking through carefully. A playmat that is too small limits the usable floor space for play and tends to curl at the edges as children move across it. A generous format gives children room to move freely and contains the play area more effectively. Our collection includes options across different sizes to suit different room configurations and age groups.

As children grow, the playmat grows with them in terms of use: a surface that starts as a tummy time mat for a newborn becomes a play space for a crawling baby and then a sitting and activity surface for a toddler. Choosing a design and construction that suits this full range of use from the outset is a more considered long-term investment than replacing as the child develops.

Our washable rugs collection is worth exploring for families who want machine washable floor coverings extended beyond the playroom into living areas and bedrooms. Our beach and picnic rugs are a great option for families who want a lightweight, rollable mat for outdoor play at parks and beaches.
